Over the years I've dealt with the rollercoaster that is life. Haven't we all? Luckily, with time, I've learned a few things that I didn't know when I was younger.
It's pretty common for us to think that our struggles are ours alone or that we're broken because we are having a hard time and assuming nobody else is going through our personal brand of pain, suffering or crazy. 5 years ago as I was studying to become a health coach, I thought my own struggles with health and body image were my faulty wiring. It didn't occur to me that a whole bunch of women felt the same way and none of us were saying anything about it. We were walking around pretending it was all FINE.
We kept trying the next popular workout, bootcamp, cleanse or diet cult searching for health and feeling inadequate and guilty about our changing bodies, our aging bodies (yes, we are, in fact, all getting older) and wanting to eat some bread.
What I've learned is that there is incredible power and healing that comes from sharing, but mostly from realizing we are NEVER alone. There is always someone else out there who has felt what we've felt. A few years ago, I realized this has actually been studied (further proof we are not alone) and it is a critical step in cultivating self-compassion (Kristin Neff wrote a book about it).
This year I want to talk to a lot of women, at least 100, probably more. I want to talk to you (and your friends). I want to have a real, no bullshit conversation about what health means to you and about your relationship with your body. If you want to be part of Real Bodies, Real Talk get on my schedule.
These are 30 minute phone calls you can schedule by clicking HERE (or the image above). This is NOT a sales call, I will not be discussing coaching, it is just 2 ladies having some real talk.
I would love your insight and help on this project by letting me interview you. I would love if you would share this with your lady friends too. Hope to be chatting soon!
